１９９４年に設立された TAMIYA PHILIPPINES INCORPORATED。

多くの企業が海外に生産拠点を求める中、
タミヤは “First in Quality Around the World” という絶対理念と

フィリピンの企業誘致に応えセブに自社工場を。

MEPZ-II(Mactan Export Processing Zone-II)と呼ばれるエリアには
精密・光学製品で有名な日系企業も隣接し島内では大きな工業地域となっています。

その中で TAMIYA PHILIPPINES INCは４０,０００㎡のスペースを持ち、
大きく分けて４つの部門があり
日本、フィリピンを合わせ約１０００名のスタッフが働いているそうです。

整った設備と整理整頓された工場内では
あちらこちらに “Quality”というスローガンが掲げてあり
高い品質と安定した製品供給を保つため、それぞれのスタッフのみなさんは集中して
”モノづくり” に向き合っていたのが印象的でした。

一つの模型を創り、カタチにしてお客様の手に渡るまで
日本、そしてフィリピンの多くのタミヤの方々が
関わっていることをあらためて感じました。
